Dale Farm Sets Milk Price for August Supplies
Dale Farm, a leading dairy co-op based in Belfast, has announced its base milk price for August supplies. For milk with 3.95% butterfat and 3.24% protein, the base price is set at 41.30p/L. The co-op has also detailed adjustments for varying milk constituents: for each 0.01% change in butterfat, the price shifts by 0.031p/L, while each 0.01% change in protein affects the price by 0.048p/L.
In the Republic of Ireland (ROI), Dale Farm's milk price for August supplies is set at 47.60c/L, excluding VAT, for milk with 3.6% butterfat and 3.30% protein.
Dale Farm, owned by 1,300 dairy farmers from Northern Ireland, England, and Scotland, processes more than 900 million litres of milk annually within Northern Ireland. The co-op has a smaller milk pool in the North West of England. Group chief executive Nick Whelan has expressed plans to expand the co-op’s milk pool in Northern Ireland by up to 1% annually over the next decade, potentially increasing milk processing by an additional 10 million litres each year.
In addition to its core dairy operations, Dale Farm raised nearly £10,000 for Cancer Focus NI through a tractor and truck run at the Ballymena Livestock Market. Over 160 vehicles participated in the event, supported by Dale Farm employees, farmers, and the local community.
