Dakin Dairy Farms holds its third Harvest Festival
Festival dates and admission
Dakin Dairy Farms is hosting its third annual Harvest Festival at 30771 Betts Road in Myakka City, Florida. The event is scheduled for October 17, 18, 24 and 25, operating from 10am to 5pm on each day.
Admission costs $20 per person. Children aged five and under enter free, and parking does not carry a charge. The festival is being held on weekends through October 25.
Included activities
The admission ticket includes rides on a cow-themed train, a corn maze and access to a children’s playground. Visitors can also use inflatable bounce houses and attend live demonstrations of cow milking.
Other included activities are a tractor-touching experience and a hayride in the pasture, where guests can feed Holstein cows. The programme also features live music, viewing of lawn-mower races and an animal barn.
Additional attractions and farm market
Several activities are not covered by general admission and require an extra ticket. They include calf cuddling, a pumpkin cannon, an apple launcher, a paintball game and Power Wheels rides, according to the farm’s website.
Food trucks and craft vendors are operating on the site during the festival. The farm market remains open as well, selling milk, ice cream and other dairy products. A Suncoast View reporter visited the farm to review activities available to visitors.
