Daiya launches dairy-free Poppable Cheesecake Bites in the US
The range comes in original, strawberry and chocolate flavours. Each bite combines a dairy-free cheesecake filling with an outer layer of dark chocolate.
The small pieces are intended to be eaten directly from the freezer. Daiya is positioning the product as a convenient way to enjoy a dessert.
John Kelly, Daiya’s chief marketing officer, said the cheesecake filling and chocolate exterior provide a dessert experience, with two or three pieces supplying 100 calories.
The bites are sold in 227g bags, with each bag containing a single flavour. The recommended retail price is $8.99.
Shoppers can find the range in frozen-dessert aisles at Sprouts Farmers Market, Meijer and Kroger nationwide. Cunningham follows a dairy-free lifestyle, which Daiya linked to his involvement in the launch campaign.
