The Ministry of Commerce of China announced on Thursday that it is currently reviewing applications from domestic industry players who are requesting an anti-subsidy investigation into dairy products imported from the European Union. The review underscores China's commitment to ensuring fair competition and the protection of domestic industries' rights under international and national law.
He Yadong, a spokesperson for the ministry, highlighted during a press briefing in Beijing that the ministry is responsive to the concerns raised by the domestic dairy sector. "In accordance with China’s legal framework and World Trade Organization (WTO) guidelines, domestic industries are entitled to seek investigations to preserve the integrity of market competition and safeguard their legitimate interests," stated He.
He further elaborated that the ministry would assess these applications rigorously following the relevant legal statutes. Should the preliminary review meet the necessary criteria, the ministry is prepared to formally initiate the investigation process, with subsequent findings to be transparently disclosed and published for public access.
