CentralStar Cooperative Expands Services After Merger

CentralStar Cooperative has announced its expansion in Dairy Herd Information (DHI) and milk-analysis services after a successful merger with Heart of America (HOA) DHIA members. The integration, which officially starts on March 3, 2025, extends CentralStar's operations across multiple states.
This merger allows CentralStar to provide services to more than 2,070 farms and approximately 700,000 cows in 15 states, as per the company news release. The states involved include Kansas, Arkansas, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, Oklahoma, Missouri, Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
Paul Trierweiler, CentralStar Board President, stated that the merger aligns with the cooperative's strategic vision to support dairy producers. He expressed gratitude for the confidence shown by HOA members and looked forward to expanded service provisions.
Heart of America members should expect a seamless transition to CentralStar's DHI services. Both organizations will continue utilizing Dairy Records Management Service (DRMS) for uninterrupted records processing. Additionally, the milk-sample processing will transition to CentralStar’s advanced laboratory located in Kaukauna, Wisconsin.
Established in 2017, the Kaukauna laboratory is equipped with cutting-edge diagnostic technologies such as infrared spectroscopy, flow cytometry, ELISA, and PCR. These technologies facilitate thorough milk analysis, identifying important components like butterfat, protein, and other indicators of dairy health and quality.
