Brazil's Largest Whey Protein Factory Expands Operations in Paraná

The largest whey protein factory in Brazil, operated by Sooro Renner, is under construction in Francisco Beltrão, Paraná. This R$ 800 million industrial complex is set to produce 12,000 tons of whey protein and 40,000 tons of high-purity lactose annually. The latter is primarily aimed at infant formula production.

Spanning 340,000 square meters, the facility will integrate all stages from processing to logistics, enhancing the scale of operations. The strategic combination of whey protein and lactose production highlights a focus on processing various dairy ingredients within a single facility.

Francisco Beltrão was chosen for its strategic location between Sooro Renner's existing operations in Marechal Cândido Rondon and Estação. This placement facilitates the integration of operations and ensures proximity to raw material suppliers.

The project also involves the acquisition and integration of Concen Lácteos into Sooro Renner's expansion plans. Although specific distribution details of activities are not disclosed, this integration is a key part of the new complex's strategy.

Employment generation is a significant aspect, with expectations to create approximately 250 direct industrial jobs and 1,200 indirect jobs, totaling 1,450 positions linked to the plant's operations. Recruitment processes will align with the construction progress, leading up to the operational phase in 2027.

The facility will feature state-of-the-art technology, although specific equipment details have not been revealed. The timeline for the project anticipates completion and operational readiness by 2027, marking a significant step in Sooro Renner's industrial growth within the dairy ingredient sector.
