Bolivia to Begin Exporting Dairy Products to Chile by March

In a groundbreaking development, Bolivia is prepared to commence the exportation of fluid milk and dairy derivatives such as yogurt and cheese to neighboring Chile, beginning in March 2025. This initiative follows the acquisition of the Exempt Resolution 2965, acknowledging Bolivia as a country free of foot-and-mouth disease both with and without vaccination.
The country's Vice Minister of Industrialization Policies, Luis Siles, confirmed the news during an interview with La Razón Radio, suggesting that Bolivian dairy products will soon reach Chilean markets. "In March, we hope to be sharing the first news of Bolivian products already in Chile," he stated.
The announcement arrives after the recent expansion of the Dairy Processing Plant in Challapata, Oruro, which now has the capability to produce ultra-pasteurized, lactose-free, and flavored milk, along with low-fat varieties. This facility is expected to produce 30,000 liters daily, benefiting more than 1,000 dairy producers with its modern technology for manufacturing various types of milk, yogurts, and cheeses.
The National Service of Agricultural Health and Food Safety (Senasag) has inspected another plant, the San Andrés facility in Beni, owned by EBA, which will also participate in exports, providing Bolivia with immediate export capacity from two locations, according to government sources.
These advancements reinforce Bolivia's strategic positioning in international agricultural markets, showcasing the nation's capacity to meet international health standards in food production and exportation.
