BEMUL to Boost Milk Sales in Goa

BEMUL, the major supplier of Nandini milk to Goa, posts a record profit of Rs 13.26 crore for the fiscal year 2024-25.

The Belagavi Milk Union (BEMUL), the major supplier of Nandini brand of milk to Goa, has achieved a significant milestone by recording its highest-ever financial achievement with a profit of Rs 13.26 crore for the financial year 2024–25. The union aims to consolidate these gains by promoting its sales in Goa.
According to Arabhavi MLA and BEMUL President Balachandra Jarkiholi, BEMUL represents the farmers’ trust and confidence. "The union’s total turnover for the year stood at Rs 399.5 crore, a 24% increase compared to last year’s Rs 320.83 crore," Jarkiholi revealed, citing efficient management and farmer-friendly technologies as key factors.
The current daily average milk procurement stands at 2.1 lakh litres, a 22% increase. The sale of milk in flexi-packs reached 80 lakh litres, marking a 196% rise. Supplies to Goa are currently at 36,000 litres per day. Furthermore, a proposal to establish a hi-tech mega dairy costing Rs 350 crore is underway, which will include the procurement of advanced equipment and expansion facilities. Regarding potential milk price adjustments in Goa, a decision from BEMUL’s head office in Bengaluru is awaited. This strategic expansion and efficient management highlight BEMUL’s commitment to growth and sustainability in the dairy sector.
