Belarus to Start Production of Hypoallergenic Baby Formula under Union Project with Russia

This was announced by Sergey Simonenko, Director of the Research Institute of Baby Nutrition, a branch of the Federal Research Center of Nutrition and Biotechnology (Russia).

"We are finalizing a Russian-Belarusian grant that includes the development and production of hydrolysate. This component is used in baby formulas for children suffering from allergies. The production launch at the 'Bellakt' enterprise is planned soon," Simonenko noted.

According to the expert, hydrolysate is a key ingredient for creating low-allergenic and allergen-free products. The first phase of the project involves the production of hydrolysate, followed by the full cycle of ready-to-use formula production.

Currently, there is almost no domestic production of hypoallergenic formulas on the Russian and Belarusian markets, with this segment largely covered by imports. Meanwhile, specialists report that in Russia alone, around 1 million children suffer from food allergies, creating significant demand for affordable and safe products.

"We have developed a line of low-allergenic and allergen-free products and designed a technology for obtaining hydrolysate. This project is focused on the market of the Union State and has great prospects," emphasized the director of the Research Institute of Baby Nutrition.

The production site will be the Belarusian enterprise 'Bellakt', which has long collaborated with Russian scientific centers. Previously, the Research Institute of Baby Nutrition developed a breast milk substitute, implemented at 'Bellakt' and awarded first prize at a specialized competition.
