AVPHARM publishes dairy farm veterinary medicines guide with Soyuzmoloko support
The document was prepared to coincide with World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week, which will take place on 18–24 November in 2026. The guide is intended for practical use on dairy farms. Its developers believe that organizing mandatory requirements in one place will help specialists navigate regulations and reduce the risk of violations that could affect animal health and milk safety.
The document has already been submitted to the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). The organizations asked the commission to help distribute it among veterinary professionals in all EAEU countries. The request is addressed to Aleksandr Subbotin, a member of the EEC Board and Minister for Technical Regulation. The letter is signed by Artyom Belov, Director General of Soyuzmoloko, and Semyon Zhavoronkov, Executive Director of AVPHARM. The authors believe that compiling the requirements in a practical, accessible format will improve veterinarians’ awareness and support the EAEU’s approach to responsible antimicrobial use.
There are plans to distribute the guide to veterinary services at dairy businesses. An electronic version is also available through the two organizations’ official online resources. AVPHARM and Soyuzmoloko describe the reference guide as part of their joint efforts to improve dairy product quality and safety and combat antimicrobial resistance.
Zhavoronkov described compliance with mandatory requirements as the foundation of herd health and product safety. He said the association’s task is to give veterinarians access to clear, reliable information for their day-to-day work. He characterized the guide as a tool to help specialists at businesses comply with regulations in carrying out their duties, linking its publication to the organizations’ involvement in combating antimicrobial resistance.
Belov said that biosecurity and the responsible use of veterinary medicines are becoming priorities for the dairy industry. In his assessment, veterinarians’ access to clearly organized information directly affects milk quality and animal health. He explained that Soyuzmoloko supported AVPHARM’s initiative because of its practical benefits for the union’s member businesses. Belov described the joint effort as part of the union’s approach to raising industry standards and strengthening the sector’s resilience, and the request to the EEC as a measure to ensure that specialists in every member country can access the guide.
World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week has been held annually since 2015 at the initiative of the World Organisation for Animal Health and partner organizations. The campaign aims to increase understanding of antimicrobial resistance and encourage responsible antibiotic use in both human medicine and veterinary practice. AVPHARM and Soyuzmoloko have traditionally supported initiatives dedicated to this goal.
