This price adjustment includes a 0.25 cents per liter support payment and a 0.5 cents per liter sustainability bonus, reflecting the co-op's commitment to sustainable dairy farming. The price is based on standard milk constituents of 3.3% protein and 3.6% butterfat.

This announcement comes in the wake of a similar move by Dairygold, which also raised its milk price for June by 0.5 cents per liter to 42.5 cents per liter. Dairygold's price, which includes sustainability and quality bonuses along with VAT, translates to an average farm gate milk price of 46.1 cents per liter. This figure is based on the average milk solids achieved by Dairygold suppliers in June 2024.

Both co-ops' decisions to increase milk prices not only support their dairy farmers amid fluctuating market conditions but also underline their ongoing efforts to promote sustainable practices within the industry. These price adjustments reflect a broader industry trend towards integrating sustainability into business models, aiming to meet consumer demands for environmentally friendly and ethically produced dairy products.
