Arla Foods recalls three pudding batches in Qatar over possible glass fragments
The affected products are three flavours, each in a 200g pack: chocolate, batch ES26284003, expiring on May 5, 2027; salted caramel, batch ES26276002, expiring on April 30, 2027; and hazelnut and latte, batch ES26247001, expiring on February 18, 2027. The ministry warned that glass fragments could endanger consumers’ health.
After receiving the notification, the ministry’s Food Safety Department began coordinating with Arla Foods, local suppliers and distributors to check that the affected batches were being withdrawn from every sales outlet. The department also began tracing quantities distributed within Qatar and checking that further supply and circulation had stopped.
Suppliers have been instructed to hold all recovered stock. They must coordinate with the Food Safety Department before either re-exporting or disposing of it. Inspectors from the department and other relevant authorities will supervise destruction of the recalled products.
Consumers should compare the batch codes and expiry dates printed on their packs with those covered by the recall. Anyone holding an affected pack should stop eating the pudding and take it back to the retailer, or ask the supplier how to arrange a return.
The ministry advised people who have eaten an affected product and develop pain in their mouth, throat or abdomen to seek care at their nearest health centre. It said it would continue checking implementation of the recall, assessing its effectiveness and applying the necessary food-safety controls.
The public was asked to consult the ministry’s official channels for updates. Questions about the recall, or reports of affected products, can be directed to Qatar’s health-sector Unified Call Centre on 16000.
