Argentine dairy industry takes center stage at Expoagro 2025

The most important agribusiness exhibition in Argentina will feature a prominent presence of the dairy sector, showcasing its productive potential and future challenges.
The event's first day was an excellent opportunity to address the current state of the sector and the factors influencing its development. A highlight was the talk by renowned economist Salvador Di Stefano, who shared his analysis on the economic context and its impact on the agricultural sector. In a scenario of economic uncertainty, Di Stefano reflected on how the current situation affects dairy production and what challenges and opportunities arise.
He emphasized the importance of macroeconomic stability for rural development and how dairy producers need to adapt to changes to sustain and boost their production. Despite difficulties such as rising input costs and tax pressure, he emphasized that appropriate policies could enhance the industry's competitiveness.
The session continued with Pepe Quintana's presentation, which, while focused on non-dairy agricultural producers, highlighted how the dairy sector can serve as a model for productive models and investment opportunities. Quintana highlighted technological innovations and best practices in dairy farming, presenting business models that could inspire other agricultural sectors.
According to the USDA and Argentina's Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries, Argentina ranks 10th in global milk production and 4th among the top dairy product exporters. This positioning underscores the country's key role in the global dairy supply and its growth potential in the international market.
