Designed for individuals already involved in or aspiring to enter the dairy industry, the course offers a comprehensive curriculum covering various aspects of commercial dairy production. Participants will gain insights into people development, financial skills, business management, taxation, and different business structures, including partnerships, joint ventures, and tenancies.

Interested candidates must submit their applications by August 30, 2024. Limited subsidized spaces are available for eligible applicants.

Now in its twelfth year, the Entrepreneurs in Dairying course has welcomed over 450 participants from diverse backgrounds within or associated with the dairy sector.

Organized by the Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers (RABDF) in collaboration with The Andersons Centre, AHDB Dairy, and the National Farmers’ Union (NFU), the course aims to equip aspiring dairy producers with the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in the industry.

In related news, AHDB recently announced its search for Welsh dairy farms to participate in its Strategic Dairy Farm program. Successful applicants will collaborate with industry experts to implement positive changes on their farms over a three-year period.

A panel of AHDB representatives and industry experts will provide support to participating farms, assisting them in setting goals and developing actionable plans. The insights and experiences gained from these farms will be shared with other farmers, fostering knowledge exchange and innovation within the dairy community.

Farmers interested in driving innovation, sharing best practices, and hosting on-farm and virtual events are encouraged to apply. Doreen Anderson, AHDB’s senior knowledge exchange manager for dairy, emphasized the program's aim to empower farmers to embrace change and drive positive outcomes within their businesses.
