Akkol Kus Poultry Farm to More Than Double Egg Production Annually

Akkol Kus poultry farm has been operating in the Akmola Region since 2014. Currently, the farm houses over 300,000 birds, comprising six hen houses and two buildings for rearing pullets. The facility includes its own feed mill and an egg warehouse equipped with sorting machinery. Since the beginning of 2026, the farm has produced 48 million eggs.

The expansion project involves the construction of four buildings with a total capacity of 324,000 laying hens. According to the regional government's data, these additional capacities will allow the production of up to 110 million eggs per year. Upon completion, the company's total production capacity is expected to reach 200 million eggs annually, up from the current 90 million.

The plans also include a separate building for pullets and a new egg warehouse. The warehouse is set to be equipped with a line capable of sorting up to 30,000 eggs per hour. Additionally, the company will expand the feed mill and upgrade the existing farm's infrastructure.

Project documentation has been prepared, and a positive review has been received from the state expertise. Construction is set to commence in November 2026. Equipment delivery and installation from China and Europe are scheduled for 2027. The first phase of the project is expected to be completed by April 2027, with full production capacity achievement anticipated by mid-2028.

The project aims to create 71 new jobs; the farm currently employs approximately 80 people. Marat Akhmetzhanov, the Head of the Akmola Region, stated that through the expansion of existing poultry farms and new investment projects, the region plans to increase its production of food eggs to 1 billion units per year by 2028.

The Akmola Region accounts for about 15% of Kazakhstan's food egg needs and produces approximately 30% of the country's poultry meat.
