Sodiaal Increases Revenue to €6.2 Billion and Invests €160 Million in Production Development

The average milk price paid to cooperative members, including all premiums and the distribution of financial results, reached a record level of €505 per 1,000 liters. The figure has increased by 33.6% compared with 2021. Sodiaal brings together around 13,900 milk producers across 68 departments of France.

Cooperative President Jean-Michel Javelle said the milk price achieved demonstrated the ability of the cooperative model to protect farmers’ incomes amid market volatility.

Integration of the Canadian Business Supported Revenue Growth

According to Sodiaal, the increase in revenue was partly driven by the integration of the Canadian Yoplait Liberté business into the group and the development of higher-value-added segments.

At the same time, 2025 was an uneven year for the dairy industry. Following a favorable first half, growth in global milk production from late August led to a decline in spot prices and complicated negotiations with retailers. The cooperative reported that milk collection increased by 4.2% globally and by 5.5% in France. The change in market conditions during the second half of the year also resulted in exceptional losses, the amount of which was not disclosed in the statement.

Sodiaal emphasized that, despite these developments, its key financial indicators have continued to improve for the third consecutive year.

Investments Increased by 20%

In 2025, the cooperative invested €160 million in the modernization and development of its production facilities, 20% more than in the previous year.

The funds were allocated to upgrading equipment at plants producing cheese, butter, and cream, as well as to developing the ingredients business. In particular, the company is installing two new production lines, which are scheduled to become operational from 2027 onward.

Sodiaal also continued its international expansion. The cooperative extended the Yoplait franchise network by entering Mongolia. The brand is now present in 40 markets. In addition, the company began its first shipments of infant milk nutrition products to China as part of its cooperation with Arla.

Yoplait Skyr Sales in France Increased by 25%

The cooperative’s brands are present in more than nine out of ten French households. Sales of Yoplait Skyr by volume increased by 25% in 2025, while its share of the French skyr segment reached 41%.

Sales volumes of Entremont products rose by 3.3%. Candia ranked second among national brands in the French drinking milk market, with a 14.1% share by value and an 11.8% share by volume.

Cooperative Reduced Emissions at Production Sites by 23%

Since 2019, the carbon footprint of Sodiaal’s facilities under Scope 1 and Scope 2 has decreased by 23%. The cooperative intends to reduce this figure by 50% by 2030. One of the projects implemented as part of the decarbonization program was the installation of a biomass boiler at the Guingamp plant.

Gross emissions per liter of milk produced on cooperative members’ farms have declined by 6.7% since 2019. In 2025, 62% of farms that met the program’s requirements received a sustainability premium.

During the year, 467 new producers joined the cooperative. Since 2019, Sodiaal has supported the establishment and development of 1,849 farms.

Pressure on Producers Is Increasing in 2026

Sodiaal expects operating conditions to become more challenging in 2026. The market continues to be affected by the global milk surplus that emerged in the second half of 2025.

At the same time, French farmers are facing higher energy, production input, and logistics costs. Early heat is creating additional pressure: heat stress reduces animal productivity, increases water and electricity consumption, and requires additional spending on adapting livestock facilities.

Sodiaal CEO Antoine Collette said the cooperative intended to rely on its brands, investment program, and cooperation with producers to preserve the value of French milk and support farmers’ incomes.
