Founders David Evans and Kevin Beer will journey from the company's headquarters in Bideford, Devon, to the Orkney Islands in Scotland in a Tuk-Tuk adorned with a giant cheese wedge. The event aims to support the charity Children In Need.
The journey, scheduled for September this year, will cover 1,386 miles with 22 stops at major UK cheese producers, beginning with Parkham Farms in Devon and concluding at Kirkwall Creamery in the Orkney Islands. Throughout their nine-day adventure, Evans and Beer will engage with fellow cheese producers, sampling and grading various cheeses. The entire trip will be documented and shared on social media to encourage public engagement and fundraising.
The Tuk-Tuk, branded in Millbrook Dairy colors, is set to become a recognizable figure across the country as it makes its way through England, Wales, and Scotland. This promotional strategy not only aims to raise significant funds for Children In Need but also to celebrate Millbrook Dairy's fifth anniversary with a unique and impactful event.
Kevin Beer expressed enthusiasm about the venture, hinting at the possibility of similar events in the future, potentially extending as far as France, Italy, or even the USA, depending on the success of this initial challenge.
David Evans highlighted the community and commercial support for their effort, emphasizing the importance of Children In Need in funding crucial projects across the UK.
