The investigation, supported by the State Police, involved the execution of a search warrant at the farm's location on 648 Mill Creek Road in Bird In Hand.

The Department of Agriculture's focus during the search was to identify illegal raw milk and related products, such as eggnog, at the farm. The probe was prompted by two reported cases of the foodborne pathogen "STEC – Shiga toxin-producing E.Coli" in minors in December. Subsequent testing of ground beef and "raw" eggnog from Miller's farm revealed positive results for STEC after consumption by one of the minors in New York.

Another case involved a minor in Michigan testing positive for STEC, with reports indicating the consumption of raw milk and various milk, egg, cheese, and meat products sourced from Miller's Farm. The investigation also unveiled that Miller's Farm was never licensed for retail operations.

The State Police provided security assistance during the execution of the search warrant by Department of Agriculture officials. The ongoing investigation underscores the importance of monitoring and enforcing regulations to ensure food safety and prevent the distribution of potentially harmful products.
