Lactalis has appointed David Saliot as the new general director for Spain and Portugal, aiming to enhance collaboration between teams through the 'One Iberia' initiative.

Lactalis has named David Saliot as the new general director for Spain and Portugal, regions where the company leads the dairy sector. This move is part of the 'One Iberia' project, an organizational evolution designed to consolidate and deepen collaboration between teams in both countries. The cooperation, which had already been developing naturally in areas such as IT, Industry, Purchasing, and Quality, now advances with the creation of a joint corporate structure. The objective is to identify and develop synergies, improve management capabilities and market responsiveness, and generate new opportunities for joint growth, while respecting the identity and autonomy of each country.
David Saliot boasts over 25 years of experience with the Lactalis group. He started his career in France, later joining Lactalis Nestlé as general director in Portugal, followed by a role overseeing Southern Europe. He then led Lactalis Puleva in Spain for six years, and for the past year, served as general director of Lactalis Spain, heading the internal collaboration project 'One Spain.' In this new framework, Miguel Romao will continue as general director of Portugal, reporting directly to David Saliot. Additionally, he will join the new Iberia Management Committee, comprised of the five general directors from both countries and an Iberian corporate team that will provide cross-region services.
Lactalis strengthens its commitment to a more connected, efficient, and collaborative model through the 'One Iberia' project. The company solidifies its leadership in the Iberian dairy sector with a historical presence supported by eight production plants, over 2,500 employees, and a turnover of 1,688 million euros in Spain alone in 2023. Further reinforcing its commitment, Lactalis announced the acquisition of Queijos Tavares, a cheese producer in Portugal, although this acquisition is still pending approval from competition authorities.
