Belarus Increased Milk Production to Over 9 Million Tons Annually
Domestic consumption of milk and dairy products in Belarus remains high, at about 247 kg per person per year. Meanwhile, the strategic focus of the industry is shifting not only towards increasing volumes but also towards the development of advanced processing.
The entire volume of raw milk in the country is directed towards domestic processing. Belarus is gradually moving away from the raw material export model, focusing instead on high value-added products that are in demand in foreign markets.
One of the directions is the production of dairy ingredients. The country already has enterprises producing whey protein concentrate. In the coming years, facilities for producing milk protein concentrate are planned to be launched — an ingredient used in sports nutrition, pharmaceuticals, and infant milk formulas.
In the future, Belarusian enterprises may also master the production of hydrolysate and lactoferrin. These products belong to the premium segment of dairy processing and allow manufacturers to enter more profitable niches.
