The volume of livestock and poultry production for slaughter in live weight in the Chelyabinsk region reached 304.4 thousand tons in the first nine months of 2026. According to data presented by Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the region Yevgeny Nedbailo, this figure is 13% higher than the level of the same period of the previous year.

Nedbailo announced this at a meeting of the Legislative Assembly of the Chelyabinsk region's Committee on Agrarian Policy and Natural Resources. "In the livestock sector of the region, a significant growth of 13% was noted from January to September. The main drivers were pig breeding and poultry farming," said the Deputy Minister.

Pork production increased by 20%, amounting to 88.4 thousand tons. In poultry farming, meat production also grew by about 20%, reaching 199.7 thousand tons. According to Nedbailo, these changes are due to the implementation of investment projects and an increase in livestock numbers.

The dairy sector also showed growth. In the region's agricultural organizations, milk production increased by 4.5% over the year, reaching 133.1 thousand tons. "Investments in dairy livestock farming ensured a 4.5% annual increase in milk production in agricultural organizations, resulting in the production of 133.1 thousand tons of milk," Nedbailo specified.

The Deputy Minister noted that the development of the region's agro-industrial sector is accompanied by private investments. Over the past three years, agricultural enterprises in the Chelyabinsk region have invested 23.2 billion rubles in fixed capital. During this period, 62 investment projects were implemented.

Regional subsidies for compensation of capital expenses, accounting for 2026, amounted to 2 billion rubles. Nedbailo stated, "Each ruble of state support attracted 11 rubles from agricultural companies." The report does not specify the distribution of investments and subsidies among individual livestock sectors.
