Yoplait Launches Drinkable Yogurt with 18 Grams of Protein in Mexico
The product is available in Café Latte and Strawberry flavors. The yogurt contains no added sugar and is lactose-free. Its drinkable format is designed for on-the-go consumption and targets people with active lifestyles.
Yoplait links the launch to growing demand for high-protein products and functional nutrition. The company is positioning Max Protein in both the Greek yogurt and sports nutrition segments.
A distinctive feature of the formulation is the addition of leucine, an essential amino acid involved in muscle protein synthesis. According to the manufacturer, the combination of protein and leucine is intended to support muscle recovery following physical activity.
Vitamins B6 and B12 contribute to energy metabolism, vitamin D supports normal muscle function, and probiotic cultures are included to support digestive health. However, the press release does not disclose the package size, energy content, amount of added leucine or recommended retail price.
“Mexican consumers are now looking for functional foods that fit their active lifestyles. Max Protein combines great taste, a convenient drinkable format and additional nutritional components,” said Lorena Vázquez, Brand Manager for Yoplait Griego.
The company noted that milk and yogurt remain among the main categories in which consumers choose products with increased protein content. The launch of Max Protein reflects the broader trend toward complex formulations that combine protein with amino acids, vitamins and other functional ingredients.
