This product is set to revolutionize the use of proteins in the health and fitness sectors, offering transparent, water-based protein drinks, pure protein powders, and vegan bars with textures similar to traditional ingredients.

According to data from Global Data and LEK Consulting, the global active nutrition market was valued at $28.4 billion in 2023, growing by 8.5% in the same year. Vivitein BLG is positioned as a solution capable of meeting the demands of this rapidly expanding market.

This innovation will be showcased at Expo West 2025 in Anaheim, California. The company’s CEO, Stephan van Sint Fiet, stated that the first agreements with clients have already been signed, and commercial deliveries are underway. Retail products featuring Vivitein BLG are expected to hit the shelves soon.

Founded in 2023, Vivici has already secured significant investments, raising €32.5 million in Series A funding. Key investors include APG on behalf of ABP, Invest-NL, and InnovationQuarter, alongside continued support from Fonterra and dsm-firmenich. This backing sets Vivici apart from competitors due to its unique combination of cutting-edge biotechnology and extensive expertise in dairy protein production.

As part of its sustainability efforts, Vivitein BLG offers an environmentally friendly solution, reducing water usage by 86% and carbon footprint by 68% compared to traditional dairy protein production methods. Stephan van Sint Fiet emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainability and its ambition to set a new standard in the protein industry. Furthermore, Vivici plans to expand its production capacity with a U.S.-based partner and launch a lactoglobulin ingredient, Vivitein LF, later this year.
