The billion-dollar Vietnamese dairy brand Vinamilk presented its innovative and sustainable development strategy at the Global Dairy Conference held from June 25 to 27, 2024, in London, U.K. The event attracted over 200 companies worldwide to discuss the dairy industry's role in sustainable development under the theme "Healthy People, Healthy Planet."
Nguyen Quang Tri, Marketing Executive Director of Vinamilk, introduced the company's new brand identity, emphasizing its commitment to innovation and sustainability. Tri’s presentation, titled "Care to Change," highlighted Vinamilk's nearly five-decade-long journey of innovation based on four pillars: future generations, better nutrition, customer experience, and a sustainable future.
"We change for you," Tri stated, underscoring the company's dedication to the community and the positive reception of the brand's new identity. He showcased the Vinamilk Green Farm fresh milk product line, which uses dual vacuum technology to preserve natural aromas and flavors, including hints of grass and flowers, with a sweet aftertaste.
Vinamilk's strategy focuses on enhancing customer experience by integrating online and direct channels to ensure consistency. The company aims to engage current consumers and attract new ones by creating excitement and ease of access to Vinamilk’s offerings.
Sustainable development remains a core goal for Vinamilk, now recognized as one of the most sustainable global dairy brands. In 2023, the company announced its net zero target roadmap through 2050. Since then, Vinamilk has achieved carbon-neutral certification for one farm and two plants under PAS 2060:2014 standards and became the first Vietnamese company to support Pathways to Dairy Net Zero.
Richard Hall, Chairman of the Global Dairy Conference, commended the industry-wide commitment to product quality and sustainable development. He cited Vinamilk as a prime example of these principles, highlighting the company's Green Farm strategy and efforts to reduce emissions throughout its value chain.
Dr. Timothy Robinson, Independent Advisor to the Global Dairy Sustainable Development Framework, praised Vinamilk’s achievements and called for increased cooperation between Vietnam and the Global Dairy Industry Initiative on Net Zero. He expressed optimism about Vietnam’s deeper involvement in the Sustainable Development Framework for the dairy industry, which could further support Vinamilk's programs.
The Global Dairy Conference, an annual high-level forum in its 17th year, gathers industry leaders, executives, and experts to share insights and strategies. Vinamilk has long represented Vietnam, contributing significantly to discussions on the development of the dairy industry in the country.
