The prestigious accolade will be presented at the 2024 SFA Awards Gala on June 24, in recognition of their significant contributions to the specialty food industry, their unwavering commitment to quality, and their dedication to sustainable practices and community engagement.
Since its inception in 1984, Vermont Creamery has been a beacon of high-quality dairy production. Starting with a serendipitous encounter that sparked the idea to introduce French-style goat cheese to the American market, the company has flourished into a renowned brand, particularly known for its fresh chèvre. From its humble beginnings with just two employees, Vermont Creamery has grown to over 120 staff members and expanded its facilities in Websterville, Vermont. A notable expansion in 2019 has further enabled the company to innovate and grow.
Reflecting on the journey, Allison Hooper remarked, "Vermont Creamery was born out of a passion for quality cheese and a vision to produce artisanal dairy that makes a positive impact on all stakeholders." Celebrating 40 years in business, the company has remained true to its mission, continually refining its products and embodying the Vermont ethos.
In line with its 40th anniversary, Vermont Creamery also announced the upcoming release of 'Hooper', its first washed rind, donut-shaped cheese, later this year, marking a new chapter in its history of dairy excellence. Harrison Kahn, General Manager at Vermont Creamery, expressed enthusiasm about the future, stating, "Vermont Creamery has been synonymous with high quality and great taste. With the introduction of a new aged goat cheese honoring Allison’s pivotal influence in the cheese world, we celebrate our heritage and look forward to another 40 years of innovation and excellence in the industry."
