In Russia, butter and egg producers are exempt from retailer payments
According to the law on trade, suppliers pay bonuses to retail chains for purchasing a certain volume of products. However, the inclusion of butter and eggs in the list of socially significant goods excludes the possibility of such payments.
The main consequences of the innovation:
- Reduction in costs for manufacturers when supplying to retail chains.
-
The possibility of redirecting funds to the modernization and expansion of production capacities.
-
Stimulating a reduction in wholesale prices and, potentially, retail prices for consumers.
How will this affect the market?
The ban on bonus payments can reduce the cost of production for manufacturers, which in the long term will lead to an increase in production volumes and stabilization of prices for socially significant products.
Experts note that retail chains can revise their pricing policy, compensating for losses from the cancellation of bonus payments. However, in general, the initiative is aimed at supporting manufacturers and reducing the burden on consumers.
The government promises to monitor the effectiveness of the new measure by monitoring changes in prices for butter and eggs in the wholesale and retail segments.
