To mark its 116th anniversary, the renowned Tillamook County Creamery is rewarding its fans with the chance to win a massive amount of cheese, nearly 2,000 pounds, aptly referred to as a "boatload." This event also coincides with National Cheddar Day, celebrated on February 13th.

The origins of Tillamook are steeped in history, dating back to the 1855 maiden voyage of the farmers aboard the Morning Star, introducing the first taste of Tillamook dairy to Portland's growing port. It wasn't until 1909 that the Tillamook County Creamery Association (TCCA) officially formed, indicating the beginning of a new era for the community's creamery collective.

"For over a century, our farmer-owned co-operative has shared the same determination that inspired those aboard the historic Morning Star," said Kate Boltin, Executive Vice President of Marketing at TCCA. "Generations of dairy fans have fueled our passion for delivering premium cheddar, and that's why we are going overboard this year by gifting a literal boatload of cheese."

Participants looking to take part in this cheese giveaway are encouraged to enter the contest running until February 20. Additionally, the first 15,000 entries will receive a free cheese coupon worth up to $6, allowing even more enthusiasts to partake in the celebration.

More information on the contest can be found on Tillamook's special contest page.
