Tetra Pak Showcases Manufacturing Innovations at Foodpro 2026

Tetra Pak showcased its latest end-to-end processing and packaging technologies at Foodpro 2026, held in Melbourne. The company's presentation highlighted their integrated approach to product development, which connects various stages such as recipe development, processing, filling, packaging, and digital services into a cohesive framework. This approach is designed to streamline the commercialization process for food and beverage products.

One of the key technologies on display was a compact high shear mixer, specifically engineered for recipe formulation and pilot-scale trials. This mixer allows manufacturers to test and refine complex liquid and semi-solid formulations on a smaller scale, minimizing risk before scaling up to full-volume production lines.

Tetra Pak also emphasized its digital manufacturing tools aimed at optimizing operational efficiency and reducing waste. Among these tools is the AI-powered Factory OS platform, which utilizes real-time plant data and automation to address challenges such as rising raw material costs, labor constraints, and strict sustainability targets.

The event underscored the rapid market growth in high-value categories like Food Supplement and Nutrition (FSN) and Ready-to-Drink (RTD) functional beverages. As consumer demand for high-protein, functional, and shelf-stable nutrition formats increases, Tetra Pak’s co-creation framework assists brand owners and co-packers in swiftly validating new concepts.

Sonalika Sharma, Packaging Portfolio Director at Tetra Pak Oceania, explained the company's strategic shift towards collaborative manufacturing partnerships. By offering technical support from initial formulation to long-term lifecycle services, Tetra Pak aims to help food and dairy processors reduce operational complexity, improve resource efficiency, and build resilient production systems.
