Tatarstan Increases State Support for Agriculture
The total funding for agriculture in Tatarstan this year will be 16.6 billion rubles. This was announced by Marat Zyabbarov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan, at a government briefing.
The federal budget is set to provide 4.2 billion rubles, with the remaining funds coming from the republic's budget. For comparison, in 2025, the agricultural sector received 15.1 billion rubles, including 3.7 billion rubles of federal funding.
As of October 19, agricultural enterprises and other farms in the republic had received 11.1 billion rubles. The acceptance and review of subsidy applications are still ongoing. The funding is intended, among other things, for small-scale farming, rural tourism, and grant programs.
Support for the purchase of commercial bulls has become a separate focus. According to Zyabbarov, this measure has stopped the decline in cattle numbers in the private sector for the first time in years. From 2027, funding from the republican budget for personal subsidiary farms should increase to 950 million rubles. In 2026, 700 million rubles is allocated for this purpose.
The subsidy rate for cow maintenance has increased from 6,300 to 10,000 rubles per head. Additionally, the republic is introducing subsidies for the construction of cattle feeding farms. The horse breeding development program also includes measures to compensate for the costs of acquiring and maintaining horses in personal farms.
“These types of support measures are unparalleled in other regions of the country,” Zyabbarov stated, linking the increased rates to the support of the Head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov. The allocation of the 16.6 billion rubles over various sectors is not detailed, besides the mentioned federal funding and personal farm support.
