"Step" Agreed to Supply 2,200 Tons of Confectionery to China
The agricultural holding "Step," a part of AFK "Sistema," has reached supply agreements with two major Chinese distributors. The total volume of products under these agreements will be 2,200 tons by 2028.
The contracts have been signed for two years with an option for extension. The supply will include grille, soft caramel, and nougat, chosen based on the results of market research in China.
Sales are planned through major retail networks in China, online trading platforms, and streaming services. According to a press release from "Step," this will be their first major batch of confectionery products sent to China.
According to the CEO of the agricultural holding, Andrey Neduzhko, the company has been working with Chinese distributors for some time. Two years ago, "Step" participated in the "Made in Russia" festival in Liaoning Province, where they showcased about 15 types of confectionery products.
The next direction of cooperation will be creating a range of products specifically for the Chinese market. Neduzhko stated that exploring new segments and adapting their products to the peculiarities of various markets allows the company to develop additional business growth directions.
According to data from the international analytical company Deep Market Insights, presented by the agricultural holding, the size of the Chinese confectionery market is expected to reach $18.07 billion in 2025. By 2034, this figure is estimated to grow to $23.63 billion.
"Step" was established in 2014. The agricultural holding is engaged in crop production, dairy farming, trade in agricultural products, sugar, and grocery items, as well as the production and distribution of cheese and dairy products. Its assets are located in the Krasnodar region, Stavropol region, and Rostov region.
