Spain: Stability in Cow Milk Prices Amid Decline in Production

In February, Spain's cow milk prices remained stable at 0.495 euros/liter, but production saw a significant drop.

The average weighted price for cow milk in Spain remained steady in February at 0.495 euros per liter, according to the latest figures from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food (MAPA). This stability comes after several months of slight increases following continuous declines since March 2023.
Despite stable prices, production fell by nearly 5% compared to the same month last year, amounting to 578,931 tons. In January, the drop was already noted with a 0.7% decrease in deliveries.
The number of dairy farmers continues to decline, with 9,206 producers reporting deliveries in February, 40 fewer than in January and 690 less than in February 2024. The price of raw organic milk also remained unchanged at 0.618 euros/liter.
