According to the report, Spanish cheese has gained a strong projection both in the national and international market. However, to consolidate this growth, the industry must address sevaeral challenges. One of the main challenges is sustainability through reducing the environmental impact of production. Additionally, the sector needs to tackle the challenge of generational change, as fewer young people are interested in continuing family businesses.

The study also emphasizes the need for the sector to adapt to consumer trends that demand healthier, more transparent, and convenient products.
