SPACE 2026 presents 12 dairy-farming innovations
SPACE 2026, an agricultural exhibition in Rennes, France, has awarded Innov’Space distinctions to 32 innovations. Twelve of them are aimed at the cattle and dairy sector: 11 received one star and one received two stars. The technologies address vaccination, reproductive diagnosis, parasite control, feeding, milking hygiene, livestock housing, farm data and deadstock management.
Animal health and reproduction
Pilot’Élevage Vaccination received the sector’s only two-star award. The tool is integrated into the Pilot’Élevage mobile application and generates vaccination schedules using farm protocols together with information on each animal, including age, reproductive events and health records. BovIntel Pregnancy V2, made by IMV Technologies, combines machine learning with ultrasound imaging. It supports the identification of non-pregnant cows, embryo detection, embryo-age estimates and recipient selection for embryo transfer.
INRAE’s Anthelmogram is an automated test for measuring the effectiveness of deworming treatments against parasitic worms in cattle, sheep and goats. The test is designed to identify emerging resistance to antiparasitic molecules and to support choices about preventive and curative treatment. The award list also includes Allflex Europe’s recyclable cardboard packaging for bovine ear tags, which is intended to reduce plastic use.
Facilities, hygiene and livestock handling
CanWash, developed by Holm & Laue, is a support system for cleaning milk churns within the usual washing cycle of a milking installation. Valisol’s stabilising slabs are made from recycled PVC and provide drained, non-slip surfaces for livestock areas, farmyards, holding pens and pasture tracks. Skavska Tunnels’ ventilation ridge is designed for tunnel-type livestock buildings, where it improves air circulation, limits condensation and assists ammonia removal.
Sanihouse, from Innovlap and Maison Bleue, uses automated gates and a motorised platform for the handling and collection of fallen livestock. Vermot’s Scari’Bou service allows livestock pens to be scarified up to the walls, removing untreated edges from the process and supporting the maintenance of cleaner concrete surfaces.
Nutrition and digital infrastructure
Jaɓnde, developed by CIRAD and INRAE, is a free digital application for agricultural technicians formulating individual dairy-cattle rations on African farms. It incorporates local feed availability, cattle genetics, feeding systems and farm-level economic constraints. Foodbasket7, developed by IFIP, assesses nutritional quality and environmental effects and provides a wider framework for examining food systems and livestock products.
The Lely Hub provides an on-farm server for automated dairy operations. It hosts herd-management software, farm data and backups, connects with Lely robotic equipment and synchronises data securely with cloud services. The award-winning technologies presented at SPACE 2026 therefore include both software and equipment for animal care, farm infrastructure, feeding and routine operations.
