Southern Dairy Hub Appoints Interim General Manager

The Southern Dairy Hub has announced the appointment of Greg Delaney as its Acting General Manager. This transition comes after Andrea Dixon, who led the hub for the past three years, stepped down from her role. Dixon's recent consultancy efforts have ensured a smooth transition for the team, researchers, and partners.

Greg Delaney is recognized for his expertise in operational excellence, organizational change, and agribusiness strategy. Prior to this role, Delaney served as Chief Operating Officer at Road Transport Logistics and held senior positions at Ballance Agri-Nutrients, where he oversaw large-scale supply chains and business improvement initiatives.

According to SDH Board Chair Simon Flood, Delaney's continuous improvement mindset and collaborative leadership style are expected to provide stability as the board strategizes the hub's future direction. Delaney's interim leadership will focus on maintaining continuity across ongoing demonstration trials and operational projects.

The Southern Dairy Hub, a collaboration between industry partners like DairyNZ and AgResearch, as well as local farmers, is dedicated to integrating commercial dairy farming with applied agricultural research. The hub's trials aim to enhance environmental performance, animal welfare, and business profitability, particularly considering the specific climatic and environmental conditions of the lower South Island.

Flood expressed gratitude for Dixon's leadership, highlighting the role she played in positioning the hub for continued success. The transition is designed to ensure the hub's long-term strategic goals are met while engaging regional stakeholders effectively.
