South Australian Dairy Finds Growing Success in Thai Market

The Yoghurt Shop, a South Australian dairy brand, has made significant strides in Thailand's market. After participating in Asia's largest food and beverage trade show, THAIFEX, the company's products are now stocked in all 22 Foodland Supermarkets in Thailand. This development marks a major milestone for the brand, as noted by its chief operating officer, Brandon Reynolds.

Reynolds expressed that what began as a small trial has turned into substantial demand for South Australian dairy. "Due to very strong consumer response and sales performance, Foodland is now substantially expanding our range across their broader Bangkok network," he stated. The demand for these products has led to a 300% increase in sales for the company in the early months of 2026.

The Yoghurt Shop's partnership with Foodland, distinct from the South Australian supermarket chain, has become one of its most crucial relationships in Southeast Asia. This expansion aligns with a broader initiative by South Australian food companies to capture the Southeast Asian market, supported by a state government-led trade mission to the region.

SA's State Development Minister Chris Picton accompanied the delegation to Thailand, marking the first such trade mission in a decade. He highlighted the importance of the Southeast Asian market, with SA exports to the region rising by $319 million year-on-year to March 2026. Picton underscored the strong demand for the state's premium produce, which he believes will lead to more opportunities.

While in Thailand, Picton and Reynolds toured Foodland Silom Park, hosted by Ramida Jongsupangkarat, the commercial director of Foodland Supermarkets. Picton remarked on the success of The Yoghurt Shop in Thailand as another example of South Australian products achieving significant international market penetration due to their quality and reputation.
