Saryarka Agro Group to Establish Meat and Dairy Cluster in Akmola Region
The 'Koitas' project aims to enhance livestock farming and increase the production of meat and dairy products in the region. As part of this initiative, Saryarka Agro Group plans to build a feedlot for 10,000 Simmental cattle, a dairy enterprise with a capacity of 100 tons per day, and a meat processing plant designed to process 100 cattle per shift.
The Austrian partners will support the project by providing expertise in breeding, production technologies, and improving the efficiency of the farm. According to materials from the regional akimat, the collaboration includes using Austrian agricultural and livestock solutions.
Hermann Wieser, CEO of AAC, stated that Austrian technologies and consultancy services are being used to improve the efficiency and environmental sustainability of agricultural production. He noted that digital systems help to optimize fertilizer use, increase yields, and automate certain processes, while livestock technologies allow for continuous monitoring of animal conditions. Austrian farmers are ready to share these innovations with their colleagues in the Akmola region.
Marat Akhmetzhanov, the Akim of the Akmola region, reported that the Korgalzhyn, Yereimentau districts, and the Birzhan sal area have the potential for developing a meat cluster, modern feedlots, and processing enterprises. Among the conditions for attracting investments, he mentioned the geographical location of the region and its inclusion in the Astana agglomeration. According to Akhmetzhanov, regional authorities are ready to support investors at all stages and assist in solving any arising issues.
The project with Austrian involvement will be part of the development of livestock infrastructure in the region. Previously, a robotic dairy farm, TOO "Enbek", was launched in the Akkol district. The enterprise features automated milking and feeding, and the equipment maintains the necessary conditions for animal welfare.
There are also plans reported in the Yereimentau district to create a meat cluster based on the Canadian model. The Akmola region became the first in Kazakhstan to begin the practical implementation of preferential livestock lending programs "Igilik" and "Bereke". These programs are aimed at supporting agricultural producers, developing pedigree livestock farming, and increasing the production of domestic products.
