Südpack will showcase its recyclable packaging solutions at CheeseCon, featuring innovative single-material films designed for the dairy industry.

Südpack, renowned for its extensive portfolio of films for packaging various types of cheese, is set to showcase its latest innovations at CheeseCon in Madison, US, from April 15-17. Their stand will feature recyclable materials emphasizing thermoforming applications, stand-up pouches, and flowpacks, all designed to meet recyclability and material efficiency standards.
The company focuses on recyclable mono-structures based on polypropylene (PP) or polyethylene (PE), which provide the same functionalities as conventional materials but with added ecological benefits. These single-material solutions are designed for incorporation into existing recycling streams, offering reduced carbon equivalents, and thus, a more favorable environmental impact.
Südpack's presentation will highlight its Pure-Line product family, particularly PE-based pouches and flowpacks, which are compatible with existing processing machines and conventional zippers. Carlo Remmele, Chief Executive for the USA division, explained, "Our single-material solutions for manufacturing stand-up pouches for shredded cheese are designed for ease of processing and reliable functionality." Additionally, Südpack will display a recyclable rigid film concept using PP for thermoformed packaging. The films ensure high process reliability and food safety, with improved sealing performance and barrier properties.
A notable development is the Tubular Bag PurePE, designed for the cheese ripening industry as an eco-friendly alternative to conventional PA/PE structures, also recognized with the 2023 German Packaging Award and the 2024 WorldStar Award from the World Packaging Organisation.
