Russia: Rosselkhoznadzor Denies Rumors of Butter Imports from UAE with Ukrainian Origin
Rosselkhoznadzor has refuted information circulating in various media outlets and Telegram channels regarding alleged imports of butter of Ukrainian origin from the UAE to Russia. The agency clarified that the imported butter is produced within the United Arab Emirates, as confirmed by accompanying veterinary and trade documents, including certificates of origin and labeling.
According to Rosselkhoznadzor representatives, butter from the UAE arrives in Russia in 20 kg packages exclusively for further processing. Imports from the UAE began on October 18, 2024, and by November 2, approximately 90 tons of butter had entered the country.
Butter imports are part of efforts to stabilize prices for this product, which have risen nearly 26% in Russia from the beginning of the year to the end of October. Additional imports have also started from Turkey, India, and Iran.
