Russia continues to strengthen its position in the global whey market. From January to August 2025, export volume exceeded 20 thousand tons, and export revenue reached about $20 million, setting a new industry record. This was reported by Dairynews.today with reference to Agroexport data.
Russia Sets Record for Whey Export - Over $20 Million in Eight Months of 2025

Compared to the same period in 2024, supplies increased by 45% in physical terms and by 2.3 times in value. Thus, in just eight months of 2025, Russian whey exports have almost reached the annual level of 2024.

According to foreign trade statistics, Russia has been showing steady growth in whey exports abroad over the past four years:

  • Kazakhstan — an actively developing market for dairy and baby product ingredients;

  • China — shows consistent demand for whey for the food and cosmetic industries.
