Rosselkhoznadzor Suspends Certification of Shin-Line Ice Cream from Kazakhstan

The Federalnaya sluzhba po veterinarnomu i fitosanitarnomu nadzoru has suspended the issuance of veterinary certificates for ice cream from three enterprises of LLP Shin-Line in Kazakhstan. The decision came into effect on October 1.

The restriction applies to enterprises with the numbers KZ A.07/G4-0002, KZ B.04/G5-5395/E, and KZ A.07/W5-5647/E. According to the agency's document, published on its official website, Rosselkhoznadzor previously requested information about these production sites from Kazakhstani colleagues but received no answer.

The agency indicated that without the requested information, it is impossible to confirm the safety of the products for the Russian market. The suspension affects the issuance of veterinary certificates for dairy products — ice cream — from these enterprises.

New batches of products from these producers will not be able to be supplied to Russia until Kazakhstan provides the required information and an inspection is conducted by Rosselkhoznadzor specialists. The announcement did not specify the deadlines for providing the information or completing the inspection.

Products shipped until and including October 1 will be accepted by Russian recipients as usual. Thus, the current decision applies to new shipments after the specified date, not to batches sent earlier.

Rosselkhoznadzor made the decision within the framework of interstate cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan in the field of veterinary control. The document also states that the measure is related to the protection of consumer health and ensuring food safety within the Eurasian Economic Union.
