Soyuzmoloko, in collaboration with Streda Consulting and the media platform Milknews, has published an updated ranking of the top 100 largest milk producers for 2024. The ranking highlights increasing consolidation and structural changes in the industry, with a growing role for large vertically integrated holdings, increased productivity, and a higher entry threshold for the list.
Top 100 Largest Russian Milk Producers of 2024

According to Alexey Gruzdev, CEO of Streda Consulting, "The 2024 ranking is one of the most dynamic in recent years. It reflects not only growth in production volume but also consolidation processes, the emergence of new strong players, and a higher entry barrier."

The top 30 companies increased production by 8.4% compared to the previous year, significantly exceeding the industry's average growth rate.

The top ten largest producers include:

  1. GC "EkoNiva" — 1,348.4 thousand tons

  2. Firm "Agrocomplex" named after N.I. Tkachev — 344.5 thousand tons

  3. GC "Agropromkomplektatsiya" — 230.1 thousand tons

  4. Agricultural holding "Step" — 220.0 thousand tons

  5. GC "Rasmolko" — 216.4 thousand tons

  6. APH "Doronichi" — 147.8 thousand tons

  7. APH "Green Valley" — 131.9 thousand tons

  8. Kirov Dairy Plant — 131.2 thousand tons

  9. Concern "Detskoselsky" — 120.0 thousand tons

  10. Agrocomplex "Labinsky" — 119.3 thousand tons

Artem Belov, CEO of Soyuzmoloko, noted that the industry is entering a new development stage: "Most large investment projects in the dairy industry have already been implemented. In the coming years, growth will be driven not by large-scale expansion but by management efficiency, digitalization, cost optimization, and technological progress."

Departmental analysis shows that large production holdings are increasingly setting strategic directions for the industry. Production concentration increases market resilience, makes it more predictable, and establishes a stable pricing policy.

However, experts point out the rising entry barrier for new players, which requires adjustments to support mechanisms for medium-sized businesses, especially in regions with insufficient processing infrastructure.

Market in Numbers

  • The top 30 producers supply about half of all commercial milk in Russia.

  • The average production growth among leading companies is 8.4% in 2024.

  • The leading regions by volume are the Central, Volga, and Siberian Federal Districts.

  • The main drivers are farm digitalization, processing modernization, and quality control automation.

The ranking is based on company data, open sources, and industry monitoring by Soyuzmoloko, Streda Consulting, and Milknews. It reflects actual production volumes for 2024 and dynamics compared to the previous period.
