Qasym-Jomart Toqaev and Markus Söder Discuss Strengthening Cooperation
Qasym-Jomart Toqaev stated that Kazakhstan and Bavaria have significant potential to expand their partnership. He believes that the technological expertise of the German region can complement Kazakhstan's resource and industrial base. The President also emphasized the importance of strengthening transport links between the two parties.
Toqaev highlighted Bavaria as a key partner in implementing the agreements reached during negotiations with President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Chancellor Frank-Walter Steinmeier. He noted the region's blend of industrial and scientific achievements alongside a respect for traditions.
"I highly value Bavaria's distinctiveness, economic power, and innovative potential," he said. The President also sees the region as a reliable partner for Kazakhstan in modernizing and diversifying its economy.
Markus Söder expressed Bavaria's interest in continuing multifaceted cooperation with Kazakhstan. The Prime Minister also thanked Toqaev for his support of Bavarian companies operating in Kazakhstan. President Toqaev invited Söder to visit Kazakhstan.
Later, Toqaev met with Ilse Aigner, the President of the Bayerischer Landtag. They discussed inter-parliamentary contacts and the development of cultural and humanitarian ties. Aigner mentioned that Bavaria is exploring ways to expand trade, transport, and investment relations with Kazakhstan. Following the talks, both parties confirmed their mutual interest in continuing the dialogue.
Toqaev described Bavaria as a crucial factor in the development of trade and relations with Kazakhstan, while considering Germany a strategic partner both in Europe and beyond. During the visit, Kazakhstan and Germany approved a roadmap for industrial cooperation.
During the trip, the President also met with Oliver Hermes, head of the Wilo Group. The German technology group plans to open a regional service and engineering center in Alatau. Additionally, Siemens expressed readiness to participate in creating data center infrastructure in Kazakhstan, and Linde and Qarmet signed an agreement for constructing an air separation plant in Temirtau.
