Purity Dairy to Halt Ice Cream Production with No Job Losses

Purity Dairy to Cease Ice Cream Production
The Dairy Farmers of America has confirmed through that Purity Dairy, a cornerstone of the dairy industry, will terminate its ice cream production. Founded in 1925 as a small family farm, Purity Dairy has been known for its rich, creamy ice cream products that have delighted consumers for decades. However, this change marks a significant shift in the company's focus.
Mayfield Dairy to Step In
The Athens, Tennessee facility responsible for Purity's ice cream production will pivot its operations to expand the manufacturing of Mayfield Dairy ice cream products. This strategic move will ensure that while Purity's products leave the shelves, they will be replaced with those of Mayfield Dairy throughout the first quarter of 2025.
No Jobs Impacted
Despite the shift in production focus, Dairy Farmers of America reports that there will be no job losses as a result of this decision. The continuity of employment reflects the stability and forward-thinking strategies within the company’s operational framework.
