Cheese Production in Russia Increases by 1.7%

By the end of 2025, cheese production in Russia increased by 1.7% reaching 874.2 thousand tons. This growth occurred amid ongoing market structure transformation and a shift in demand towards natural products, while the cheese products segment showed the opposite trend.
Cheese Production in Russia Increases by 1.7%

The output of cheese products decreased by 10.3% to 182.1 thousand tons. As a result, the combined production of cheese and cheese products fell by 0.6%, totaling 1.056 million tons.

Consumption of cheese and cheese products for food purposes by the end of the year amounted to 1.197 million tons, which is 1.7% lower than the previous year. Meanwhile, the consumption of natural cheeses continued to grow, increasing by 0.8%, whereas the demand for cheese products declined sharply by 15.3%.

Carryover stocks of cheese at processing enterprises' warehouses at the beginning of 2026 amounted to 73.5 thousand tons, almost a third higher than the previous year. Simultaneously, stocks of cheese products decreased by 18% to 10.6 thousand tons.
