Cheese and Curd Production in Kazakhstan Increases by Almost 39% in Q1 2026
In absolute terms, the increase amounted to 4.2 thousand tons. The growth in domestic production is accompanied by a decline in imports.
At the end of the first quarter, cheese and curd imports to Kazakhstan decreased by 10.1%, totaling 9.4 thousand tons. For comparison, 10.5 thousand tons of these products were imported into the country in January to March 2025.
Despite the reduction in imports, its share in the total resource volume remains significant at 38.2%. This indicates a continued market dependence on external supplies, especially in certain cheese categories.
Cheese and curd exports also decreased. In January to March 2026, Kazakhstan exported 382.2 tons of these products, a reduction of 20.2% compared to the previous year.
Meanwhile, the domestic market showed positive dynamics. The sales volume of cheese and curd within the country for the first quarter was 24.4 thousand tons, increasing by 15.7% compared to the same period last year.
