Profeco Recommends High-Protein Milk Brand

Milk is a staple in many households across Mexico, with an average consumption of 131 liters per person each year. To assist consumers in selecting the best options amidst a sea of brands, Profeco conducted a quality assessment of various milk products.

The study, published by Profeco, evaluated 20 milk products, including 17 types of milk and derivatives and three pasteurized dairy products, to verify if they meet the quality standards and labeling claims. Among the brands tested, LALA 100 Sin Lactosa + PROTEÍNA 54g LIGHT stood out by offering 58.6 grams of protein per liter—exceeding the minimum required levels.

This brand is partially skimmed, lactose-free, ultrafiltered and pasteurized, enhanced with vitamins A and D, and reduced in fat. The milk is competitively priced at around 32 pesos per liter.
