Preventive Kits Distributed to Combat Livestock Pest in Camargo

Arturo Zubía, a local legislator, conducted a work tour in the municipality of Camargo, Chihuahua, aimed at enhancing biosecurity measures against the threat posed by the screw worm. During the visit, he distributed preventive care kits to dairy producers in the Altavista community and cheese processors, aiming to protect the livestock's health and the livelihood of rural families in the region.

The visit included the Milk Collection Center El Mimbres, an infrastructure initially developed during Zubía's tenure as the municipal president of Camargo to strengthen dairy commercialization. These sanitary tools are intended to provide producers with immediate response resources for treating suspicious wounds in animals, while specialized personnel carry out official inspections.

This preventive strategy aligns with the zoosanitary containment protocols promoted by Governor Maru Campos and the State Department of Rural Development of Chihuahua. The advance distribution of supplies in District XX municipalities aims to shield intensive production units before the pest poses a direct risk to economic stability and the sanitary status of the entity.

During his visit to the artisanal cheese factory Cassidy's, Zubía emphasized the strategic importance of microenterprises dedicated to transforming dairy derivatives. He highlighted that the production of artisanal and industrial cheese adds value to the fluid milk obtained from Camargo's corrals, constituting a crucial economic driver for job creation and income retention in the community.

Maintaining the health of the bovine herd is essential to sustaining the competitiveness of the dairy chain in Chihuahua. The collaboration between legislators, government authorities, collection centers, and processing plants enhances epidemiological surveillance in corrals, ensuring the continuous operation of the dairy industry and safeguarding the region's cheese-making tradition.
