Organic Dairy Gets a Boost: New Grants Unleashed!

The USDA has announced a significant boost for the dairy industry with the availability of grants ranging from $50,000 to $500,000 aimed at promoting organic dairy products in schools and youth programs. This initiative is part of the Organic Dairy Product Promotion Grant program, funded by the USDA’s Commodity Credit Corporation, which seeks to increase the presence of USDA-certified organic dairy products within institutions serving youths aged 5 to 25.

The program is designed to support projects that either expand current organic dairy offerings or introduce them to new institutions, with a focus on sustained organic dairy purchases beyond the grant period. This strategic investment is intended to foster long-term market growth and strengthen the organic dairy supply chain in the Northeast region.

Eligible applicants include licensed dairy processors, distributors, and youth organizations in the Northeast, with the application window open from June 10 to July 31, 2025. In addition to this initiative, other grants available through the Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Center include the Dairy Farm Improvement & Modernization Grant, Dairy Co-Packing Grant, and Catalyzing Regional Dairy Workforce Grant, each designed to enhance efficiency, collaboration, and labor sustainability within the dairy sector.

These efforts collectively reflect a broader commitment to supporting dairy farmers and the community, ensuring resilience, profitability, and future growth across the industry.
