Ogun State to Launch Nigeria's Largest Dairy and Cattle Ranches
Governor Dapo Abiodun revealed plans to establish Nigeria's largest dairy and cattle ranches in Ogun State. These ranches will be located in the Ipokia and Yewa South Local Government Areas and will commence operations with an initial capacity of 5,000 herds of cattle. This announcement was made during the All Progressives Congress (APC) Strategic Stakeholders Meeting held at the Cultural Centre in Kuto, Abeokuta.
The governor emphasized that this initiative is a part of broader efforts to strengthen food security, bolster local agricultural production, and expand value chains throughout the state. He credited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his economic reforms, which have been instrumental in stabilizing Nigeria's foreign exchange market and boosting foreign reserves to approximately $45 billion.
In addition to the dairy and cattle ranches, Governor Abiodun highlighted several achievements of his administration, including the construction of over 1,700 kilometers of roads, the delivery of more than 7,000 housing units, and the upgrading and full equipping of over 400 Primary Healthcare Centres. He also noted that Ogun State is on the cusp of becoming an oil-producing state.
The APC stakeholders' meeting was convened to engage party members, assess progress, and strategize for the upcoming election season. Governor Abiodun urged party members to prioritize unity, stating that a united APC is an 'unbeatable APC.'
Prominent figures present at the meeting included former Governor Olusegun Osoba, Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, Senators Solomon Olamilekan Adeola and Shuaib Salisu, House of Representatives Chief Whip Hon. Ibrahim Isiaka, Ministers Bosun Tijani and Dr. Isiaka Salako, and State APC Chairman Chief Yemi Sanusi, among others.
