New Dairy Production Initiative Launched in Yemen
The Hajjah undersecretary for Agricultural Affairs, Ibrahim Amer, has initiated a project focused on distributing and training in dairy inputs, agricultural production, and fodder preservation in the Najrah district of Hajjah province. This initiative, part of the Rural Resilience 3 Joint Program for Livelihoods, Food Security, and Climate Adaptation, targets 375 beneficiaries. Under the implementation of the Sada Foundation for Construction and Development, and in collaboration with local authorities, the project seeks to bolster local dairy production, lessen dependence on imports, and improve food self-sufficiency through value chain enhancement.

District Director Kamal al-Sufi commended the project for aligning with national strategies to promote local products, urging the completion of a regional dairy lab. The Sada Foundation's Chairman, Walid al-Ali, underlined the project's impact on living standards, emphasizing its benefits for 120 small producers, 40 large producers, 15 dairy centers, and numerous recipients of agricultural kits. An inspection of the "al-Aman Dairy Lab" showcased ongoing yogurt, laban, and cheese production, in addition to processes for milk testing and feed distribution aimed at boosting dairy output. The initiative also includes machinery for fodder shredding and grain milling, aiding cattle feeding.
